About Us

Nigel Brown, Richard Pepper (President Emeritus) Phil Davies (Midlands Secretary) Tony Bishop & Al Swift.

Foreword by Hon. Sec. Tony Bishop:

I didn’t start playing golf until I was 30. Until then I had very little contact with my old school.

While scanning the O.R. magazine (it was excitingly known then as the Terminal Letter), I found an old friend, Bruce Knight, was Honorary Secretary of the O.R.G.S. I rang him and told him that I now played golf. I can’t begin to tell you how welcome I was made, and I have never looked back since.

The ORGS opened a whole new world for me. A host of new friends, from both Repton, and the other schools we play.

The match against the school is a great place for those still at Repton to meet the members of the ORGS. it is played in May at Little Aston and any boy or girl who wants to play should tell Russel Embury - he will organise it.

As members of the society we are privileged to play on some of the finest golf courses in Britain, with some of the best people you could wish to meet.

The greatest thing about the ORGS is how it transcends the ages. Pupils come to their first match at Little Aston and we enter a team every year in the Veteran Bernard Darwin for the over 70 year olds.

So that’s what it’s all about; golf with great folks and good honest fun. If you like the sound of this and want to join us, go to the Sign Up page, and fill in the New Member Form. We’d be delighted to have you.
